My writer's autobiography was the first writing piece I completed in this course, and it demonstrates my experience with writing and my beliefs for teaching writing. I had to reflect on my own writing experiences and how I would want to teach my own students. This writing gave me the chance to change my mindset from learner to teacher and address my beliefs at the same time. Since this was the first assignment completed, it helped me organize my thoughts for the remainder of the semester and keep my views of writing in mind as I studied writing workshops. I would use this in my classroom to teach writing by showing my students how anyone can be a writer and that your writing views come from your experiences.
